But for today, we keep all of you in our hearts. It is the best day of the year. I will introduce the traditions of Feastival to my students this afternoon, and as I ride through the streets of Shanghai with my asthma mask on I will at least pretend to be dressed up as a bird flu-paranoid Asian traveler. Wish you all were here or that we were there and that there would be dancing and wine and way too much food.
Incidentally, today is also the day Peter and I celebrate our anniversary. Seems like just yesterday a nineteen-year-old Incredible Hulk bench-pressed a twenty-year-old wonder woman into the air in the middle of a crowded room. Actually, it seems like a very long time ago. That was my first Feastival, back in the last millenium, and it has been a nonstop party ever since.

Happy Anniversary to Incredible Hulk and Wonder Woman! Gerry & I just had ours -- on the coast with razor clams, red sunset & golden moonrise. Am loving hearing your stories; adventures to last a lifetime! But sorry about your lungs - Feastival Day in Seattle is clear and crisp. Boo! Marty
Enchiladas sound good, but even better would be french bread turkey stuffing mashed potato garlic cheese sandwiches. And a yeasty explosive homebrew to foam it down. Super Feastival to all!!
I've never been to a feastival celebration, except in spirit. But, tonight 40 of my favorite Tucsonans and at least 5 of my least favorite are coming to a Halloween party hosted by yours truly. And yes, my costume is elaborate, as usual...wish you were here!
Last night I went to the Josh Ritter--who is from Moscow IDAHO--show in B'ham! The whole band was in costume and he was dressed like a roman soldier. I think he is the happiest man alive...he could not stop smiling! I screamed "If you ain't Idahoan you ain't shit!" He agreed. Thanks, my Idahoan friends! Zak
Well, I have to say the remaining yellow-housers in the Northwest didn't make a very valiant effort to carry on the Feastival tradition this year- it just didn't seem quite right without you guys. I did my best to earn myself a good hangover as a workout zombie at a coworker's party, but I have to say it couldn't compare to parties of the past, with Emergen-C and jook to aid my healing. I thought about you all, I hope we'll all get together again soon.
Feeeeeaaaaaaastivaaaaaaallllll!!!! Oh how I miss it. And you guys too. I didn't know you were going to China, but I guess I'm not surprised you are going to unexpected places. Loved reading your stories, I'll look in often. I'm so jealous. Well, not of the asthma. or the meat in carts. But the adventure of it all, definitely.
